Details

Macrophages are versatile innate immune cells that play central roles in tissue homeostasis, pathogen clearance, inflammation resolution, and tissue remodeling. Derived from peripheral blood CD14+ monocytes, monocyte-derived macrophages are widely used to study macrophage polarization, immune regulation, the tumor microenvironment, and drug screening for inflammation-targeted therapeutics.

MileCell offers human macrophages in three polarization states—M0, M1, and M2—all differentiated from peripheral blood CD14+ monocytes. M0 macrophages are the undifferentiated, resting state, serving as a baseline model for studying polarization toward pro-inflammatory (M1) or anti-inflammatory (M2) phenotypes. M1 macrophages are classically activated and pro-inflammatory, characterized by high expression of CD80, CD86, HLA-DR, and iNOS, and production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, making them ideal for inflammation modeling, host–pathogen interaction studies, and anti-tumor immunity research. M2 macrophages are alternatively activated and anti-inflammatory, marked by high expression of CD206, CD163, and CD209, and production of anti-inflammatory cytokines, suited for tissue repair, wound healing, fibrosis, immunoregulation, and tumor microenvironment studies. Every lot is validated for cell viability and immunophenotype to ensure consistent quality. Available in fresh and cryopreserved formats, they can be used in applications spanning M1/M2 polarization studies, phagocytosis assays, cytokine profiling, tumor microenvironment modeling, drug screening for inflammation-targeted therapeutics, and co-culture with tumor or immune cells.
